Nikon Optizoom Module with Reticle Holder. The Nikon part number is #84572. This unit is in absolutley new condition having only been unpacked to photograph. Included is the Optizoom Instruction manual. The Optizoom Module is designed for use with all models of Nikon Alphaphot, Labophot and Optiphot Microscopes. The unit provides a continuous zoom magnification from 0.8X to 2.0X and is installed between the viewing head and arm of the microsocpe. As the head is elevated an additional 50mm, there is an optical compensation built into the Optizoom. Image brightness decreases as zoom magnification increases. Zooming to 2X with high power objectives will produce "empty magnification", resulting in a soft, low contrast image. The optizoom is parfocal and erects the microscope image. The reticule filter holder takes a 24mm reticule.
